China and Pakistan Strengthen Maritime Ties in Fifth Dialogue Round

China–Pak committed to deepening their strategic partnership, planning a shared maritime future, with the next dialogue set for Pakistan in 2026.

Pakistan Army News, Beijing, April 16, 2025 – China and Pakistan held the fifth round of their Maritime Cooperation Dialogue on April 15 in Beijing, co-chaired by Hong Liang, Director-General of China’s Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs, and Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two nations reviewed progress since their last meeting, discussing maritime security, marine economy, science, technology, and environmental issues. 

They reached broad consensus on enhancing cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to a shared maritime future within their all-weather strategic partnership.

Both sides pledged to maintain communication, coordinate maritime policies, and deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The sixth round of the dialogue is scheduled to take place in Pakistan next year at a mutually agreed time.
